Bradley Beach is a unique oceanfront and family community located on the Jersey Shore home to friendly residents and welcoming to visitors and businesses. As a small but diverse town, our Bradley Beach municipality seeks to offer the best quality of life, civic engagement, great services in a caring and inclusive environment.
A History of Bradley Beach
The earliest accounts of Bradley Beach can be traced back to 1679 when it is said that Captain William Kidd anchored his vessel off Duck Creek, now known as Sylvan Lake. The area was rich with pine trees and sand dunes providing a natural haven for waterfowl. It was also reported that an Indian tribe existed in the approximate area of LaReine Avenue.
Mayor’s Message: September 23, 2021
Our “official” Summer season is over. I want to give a few highlighted points on our Badge revenue:
- Our 2021 revenue was 25% higher than our “normal” 4-year average (from 2016-2019)- a very positive indicator!
- Our Season badge sales were up 30% even over the 2020 number- another very positive indicator.
- We’ll be looking at improvements we can make for next season and what investments we can make.

Hello Residents- two noteworthy items to report:
It looks like Bradley Beach will have its theater back. The Cinema Lab Group is working to complete a deal soon; however, contracts have been signed and there is a good probability this will happen! Many thanks should go to former Mayor Gary Engelstad. When the theater closed last fall, he worked to find investors and management groups that might have an interest. Arianna Bocco, President of IFC films and a resident, also deserves credit for bringing investors and the management team (Cinema Labs) to Bradley Beach.

Bradley Beach Recreation Department hosts after school program at Bradley Beach Elementary School.
The Borough of Bradley Beach Recreation Department will be hosting an after school program at the Bradley Beach Elementary School. The anticipated start date of the program is October 1,2021 and will follow the school calendar.
