From Mayor Fox
August 19, 2021
With just 3 + weeks left in our “official” Summer season, Beach Staff (lifeguards, attendants), Public Works, Public Safety, and Tourism continue to do a phenomenal job. We are on target for another successful year. Thanks to all!
As we move into Labor Day Weekend and the final 4 months of 2021, we in the Municipal Government are focused on our “to do” list for the remainder of the year. The big items are:
- COAH (Affordable Housing) requirements- getting into compliance with an approved plan.
- The LaReine Avenue Church- completing the Engineering analysis and assessing alternatives.
- Many Personnel procedures and practices- revisions and corrective actions
- Keeping our Infrastructure projects on track- among which are the Sewer project Phase 2 is almost 2 years behind. I’d like to also begin to assess a bulkhead extension from 3rd Avenue to Avon.
- Continuing Beachfront Improvements- replace the “boardwalk” section of Promenade near Ocean Park/ Newark Avenue. Completing addition of handicap ramps on 2 beaches.
- Our Council Improvements of a Standing Committee Process
Lots to do, we’ll be busy! Have a great Labor Day weekend.
See you around town.
