The Borough has partnered with Host Compliance a nationally recognized company that specializes in identifying and monitoring Short Term Rentals and we are now prepared to go live and begin the enforcement of those properties that are not in compliance with the Borough’s Ordinances. In the very near future, a warning letter will be going out to any property owner that is in violation and a subsequent letter advising that they are still in violation and the Borough will be initiating court action. We hope this new process will be to the benefit and safety of all.

Our Beach continues to operate very well under the conditions of the Pandemic and Executive Order’s from the Governor. The Borough decided recently to decrease the sale of daily badges from 3000 to 2000 per day and place all sales on Viply. This decision came with reducing the ticket booths needed since there would no longer be any cash involved and there would only be the need for processing Viply sales to enter the beach. A memo dated July 21, 2020 was issued to all eleven (11) cashiers asking if they would like to stay on and process Viply and by close of business that day, seven (7) cashiers requested to be considered. The Borough proceeded to work with those seven (7) seasonal employees to work out of the three (3) designated booths to process the Viply sales. The new process has gone well with exception to a few disappointed beachgoers.

We are averaging 7,433 beachgoers over the last two weekends and the weekdays we are seeing on average 2,441 beachgoers a day. At this time, our current local maximum beachgoers on the beach is a 11,000 capacity for social distancing purposes.

The Borough continues to adjust in the area of its Human Resources program and as you see this evening for the Governing Body’s consideration is Resolution 2020-195 Authorizing an Agreement with Paychex for payroll services. But it does not stop there with just payroll services, in fact it upgrades the Borough’s Human Resource Information System, to include HR Administration, an App for the employees, HR Library, Time Tracking, Reporting and Analytics. I personally am looking forward to having this tool in our toolbox and providing an improved experience to the staff as well as the employee.
